Anthropic brings Claude into Google Docs, Sheets and Slides for direct editing

Anthropic has expanded Claude’s Google Workspace integration by bringing the assistant directly into Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides, with the new Claude for Google Workspace now available in open beta for all paid plans. Once installed, Claude appears in a side panel, where it can read the current file and any user-selected content, then make changes directly inside the original document. The feature set differs by app. In Docs, Claude can rewrite and reorganize text. In Sheets, it can write formulas, build pivot tables and native charts, and even clean data with Python before writing the results back into the spreadsheet. In Slides, it can generate new pages using an existing template and check for layout issues such as overlapping elements or text overflow. Anthropic also launched new connectors for Docs, Sheets and Slides. Users can create or edit Google files from within a Claude chat by pasting a file link. Previously, Claude’s Workspace integration mainly focused on searching content across Gmail, Calendar and Drive. This update extends that capability from retrieval into direct file editing, though the product remains in beta and still carries several limits.

OpenAI’s 28-day sprint Day 2 brings four updates, with another quota reset still possible

OpenAI product and platform lead Thibault Sottiaux said Day 2 of the company’s 28-day product sprint delivered four updates, while leaving open the possibility of an additional quota reset later in the day. The clearest change for Codex users is that Auto-review is now free for people who sign in with a ChatGPT account and no longer counts against subscription usage. Sottiaux said the feature previously could consume 2% to 10% of a plan’s quota. The other three updates cover OpenAI’s API pricing tiers, a new ChatGPT Meetings plugin, and the public beta launch of the Decisions API. OpenAI has reduced its five paid API usage tiers to three levels: Build, Launch, and Grow. The Meetings plugin can automatically record meetings and organize summaries and action items. The Decisions API is designed to help applications quickly choose a model, a tool, or the next action. Sottiaux also said Day 2 could end up being "four updates, or a quota reset, or both."
